I think it's a great idea. It is a very convenient way to share information and news. It's a bit questionable that the particular blog the district is using is a site that is blocked by our school's firewalls, so no employees will be able to view the blog from work, but at least it is a way to share information with parents. It could be a useful classroom tool for teachers...a class blog or class facebook page is a terrific idea as well, but there again, it can't be accessed at school. It's nice to have a lot of technology at our fingertips but not when it can't be used productively as a teaching or learning tool.
